Retreats organised by The Healing Temple are wellness experiences and should not be interpreted as holidays, package tours, or luxury travel experiences. They are designed for healing, nervous system regulation, somatic work, and spiritual development.

The Participant understands and accepts that:

  • the focus of the retreat is rest, healing, and personal growth
  • the environment may include nature sounds, insects, animals, uneven terrain, heat, humidity, and tropical weather

6a. Organiser Illness or Incapacity

In the unlikely event that the Organiser becomes ill, injured, or temporarily unable to deliver part of the retreat programme, the retreat will continue as planned wherever possible. Adjustments may be made, including but not limited to:

  • rescheduling sessions
  • shortening or modifying activities
  • providing alternative activities
  • delivering sessions in a reduced or adapted format
  • appointing a suitable substitute facilitator (if available)

Such adjustments do not constitute a failure to deliver the retreat and do not entitle Participants to refunds, discounts, or compensation.

The Organiser will always prioritise the safety and wellbeing of the group and ensure the continuation of the retreat to the best of their ability.

If the Organiser becomes critically unwell and the retreat cannot continue, Participants will be refunded for the remaining days of the retreat on a pro-rata basis. Refunds are not issued for missed individual activities prior to any cancellation decision

7. Excursions, Tours & Scheduled Visits

Excursions are designed to provide a balanced experience for the group. The Organiser will determine appropriate duration, structure, and timing according to safety, group needs, and local conditions.

Participants agree that:

Time spent at locations may vary.

Arrival/departure times may change due to normal travel conditions.

The Organiser may shorten or extend time at an excursion location at their discretion.

Personal expectations of visit length do not determine programme structure.

Excursions may be adapted, postponed, or replaced for safety or practical reasons.

Changes to excursion timing, duration, or content do not entitle Participants to refunds, discounts, or compensation.

8. Add-Ons, Entrance Fees & Personal Expenses

Only the entrance fees or items explicitly stated as included are covered by the Organiser.

All other costs, including offerings, sarongs, temple attire, snacks, drinks, souvenirs, or additional personal purchases are the responsibility of the Participant.

Optional activities, private treatments, upgrades, or additional services must be paid directly by the Participant.

involves illegal activity

Additional costs from early removal or voluntary departure are the Participant’s responsibility.

10.a Alcohol & Substance Policy

This is a wellness retreat and a dry environment.
No alcohol, illegal substances, or recreational drugs may be brought to, consumed at, or used during the retreat, including during excursions or at the venue.

Violation of this rule may result in immediate removal from the retreat without refund.
Any additional costs arising from this early removal are the Participant’s responsibility.

11. Voluntary Early Departure

Participants who voluntarily leave the retreat before its completion, for any reason including personal preference, dissatisfaction, illness, or change of circumstances, are not entitled to any refund, partial refund, credit, or compensation.

All costs arising from early departure are the Participant’s sole responsibility.

Proof of insurance may be requested.

Failure to obtain insurance does not impose liability on the Organiser.

16. Cancellations by Participant

Deposits are non-refundable under all circumstances.

No refunds will be issued for cancellations after full payment.

No refund is given for missed activities, late arrival, early departure, illness, fear, anxiety, discomfort, or dissatisfaction.

In exceptional circumstances—such as serious illness, medical diagnosis, accident, or significant unforeseen personal events—and entirely at the Organiser’s discretion, a Participant may be offered a credit to be used towards another retreat.
Any such credit must be used within 12 months of the original retreat start date and is subject to availability. No guarantee of credit or transfer is given.

16a. Retreat Transfers & Changes

Bookings are specific to the retreat, dates, and accommodation selected at the time of booking. Transfers between retreats (including changing to a different location, date, or retreat programme) are not permitted once a booking has been confirmed.

If a Participant is no longer able to attend their original retreat, this will be treated as a cancellation and the standard cancellation terms will apply.

17. Cancellations by the Organiser

If the Organiser must cancel the retreat, all payments made to the Organiser will be refunded.

The Organiser is not responsible for refunds of flights, visas, insurance, or personal expenses.

18. Force Majeure

The Organiser is not liable for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, extreme weather, storms, floods, fires, pandemics, war, epidemics, viral outbreaks, public health emergencies, government restrictions, illness of key staff, civil unrest, or any other external events.

No refunds or compensation will be provided under Force Majeure, and programme adjustments may be made for safety.

19. Complaints Procedure

Complaints must be raised immediately during the retreat to allow resolution.

Complaints not raised at the time may not be considered.

Formal written complaints must be submitted within 7 days of the retreat ending.

Complaints raised only after the retreat has ended, without having been raised during the retreat, will be considered invalid.

To ensure that any concerns can be addressed promptly and effectively, all complaints or issues must be submitted in writing during the retreat.
Acceptable written formats are:

  • WhatsApp message sent directly to the Organiser
